Hey Phil and Karen, I just got back from a pheasant hunt in NW Iowa for a few days.  Cassee did awesome, especially considering this is her first "official" hunt.  We were one bird shy from limiting out our three day trip, but this picture is only of our second day.  We took these birds 15 minutes after getting out of the truck, and in about four minutes.  I pulled off a double, which she neatly retrieved and we didn't step 20 steps before she flushed the third.  I was pretty ecstatic that she/we did it so perfect!  Next week duck hunting in Illinois, will let you know how it goes retrieving from a canoe.

Phil and Karen:

Here are a couple of pictures from opening day of pheasant season in Kansas on November 4, 2006.  Picture #34 is a tired kid and tired dog after a long day of hunting.  This is my 11 year old daughter Kaitlyn and Jessie lying down in the back of my pick-up truck.  Picture #43 is the 26 pheasants we harvested and Jessie with my 16 year old son Zachary and two of my brothers with their dogs.

10/14/06 - Reggie from Canada - 1 1/2 yrs old

Karen and Phil,

This picture was taken at Marty's hunt camp near Sault Michigan the weekend after we saw you.  Reggie loved the 8 inches of snow and the fifty degree drop in temperature.  Enjoyed going out in the woods and
scaring up partridge and woodcock.

Talk to you soon,

Patti and Marty

p.s.  this shot took some time to set up as Reggie kept stealing a bird and running off with it!

Hi Phil and Karen,

I took Indy out for a little taste of pheasant hunting this morning and he did great!  He really got on the birds right from the start.  I brought my 9 year old son along, so I was planning a very easy and short pheasant hunt and stuck to the plan.  I'm really looking forward to getting him out again and again.

I love the nose and instincts on this dog!

10/24/06 Briggs from AL - 6 months old

Phil and Karen,
Katie and I wanted to send you a few pictures of Briggs first pheasant hunting trip to North Dakota.  We hunted during the first week of the season 10-15-06 to 10-19-06 in the southeastern section of North
Dakota.  Briggs worked the bird great and he was especially useful at locating down birds that had driven themselves into the deep grass and corn fields.  The first day was wonderful with temperatures in the low
60's, but temperatures soon fell into the lower 20's and snow.  We hope that you enjoy the pictures and look forward from hearing from you.

PS.  I wanted to also let you know that even after working all day Briggs still wanted his 30 minute training session, so he truly has become "The little engine that could".

10/23/06 Gauge from NC - 10 months old

Hey Hinchmans,  Just got back from North Dakota.  I was gone for two weeks and had a blast.  Gauge got to experience wild pheasants, sharptail grouse, ducks, geese and even cranes (didn't like the cranes so much).  I don't know what got into him after he chased that first winged pheasant, but he
turned up his hunting gear to extra high.  He's like a different dog now.  If he hunts with that passion on the next field trial, nobody will have a chance.  I sent a couple of the waterfowl pictures that I took.  I'll send some of the upland pics when I get them back.  I hope that the trial you hosted went well, I havn't had a chance to check your site yet as I have just arrived home.  Take care,  Matt
